Billshark – Taking a Bite Out of Bills

Does this sound familiar? You sign up for cable to get that special promo deal, only to find out your bill is going to go up after two years. And premium channels like HBO aren’t included. Yeah, those are going to cost you extra. Oh, and don’t forget the equipment rental fee – that’s separate too. And of course, the installation fee. At the end of the day, you might think that you’re not really getting that great of a deal (I know I didn’t when I signed contracts with various cable companies).

If, like many consumers, you’re not sure you’re getting a fair deal on some of your monthly expenses, Billshark is your advocate. Billshark was launched in 2015 with the goal of helping consumers who are being taken advantage of by companies charging high prices on services such as cable, phone bills, utilities, and more.

Great! How do I lower my bills?

Signing up for Billshark is easy. You give them an email address, and can either upload your bills, or provide online access to your accounts. A “shark” then negotiates with companies to lower your monthly bill. The cost? 40% of the savings that they negotiate for you. That’s 10% back in your pocket. Over a period of time, that really adds up. If you have multiple bills that they can lower for you, the savings are even greater. What’s even better is that these sharks can sometimes get you better services for a smaller payment each month.

Another awesome thing about these viscous predators is the service is risk-free. If Billshark can’t lower any of your bills for you, there are no fees – that simple. And, if Billshark is able to negotiate a better deal for you, they remind you when your savings are about to expire and continue negotiating your bills for you.

One other great service Billshark offers is they will cancel services if you ask them to for a flat fee of $25. Don’t think you need that landline anymore? They’ll cancel it for you. While negotiating though, Billshark will never change or cancel your services without your permission – unless they can upgrade services without increasing cost.

Financial Education

One other thing that we at Credit.com want to note is how Billshark gives back. Financial education and literacy are important to us, and we know it’s important to start teaching children about finance from a young age so that they can grow into financially responsible adults. For every bill that Billshark is able to negotiate, they donate one hour of finance education to middle school children through the Dave Ramsey programs, where each student will receive 50 hours of instruction. The program launched in Spring 2017 and its goal is to provide financial education to one million children by 2025. It doesn’t get better than that!

So, what’s to lose? By signing up for Billshark, you can potentially save hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars, without taking any sort of risk. These sharks have sharp teeth, and they aren’t afraid to use them. Let Billshark take a bite out of your bills.
