Credit Card Review: CitiBusiness World Card

When you’re running a business, you need all the help you can get. With the CitiBusiness World Card, you get rewards for your everyday business expenses.

You also get some pretty cool management tools. You can track expenses online, create quarterly and annual account summaries, and get access to your own “Personal Business Assistant.” You’ll get help with travel arrangements, dining reservations and more.

You can also set credit limits for individual employees, and if you’ve got a lot of folks to keep up with, that’s a really good feature. All in all, the CitiBusiness World Card has a lot to offer.

When I talk about business cards, though, I always note that these credit cards aren’t covered by the Credit CARD Act of 2009. So please remember that you don’t have consumer protections. For example, there’s nothing to prevent the issuer from applying an interest rate increase to an existing balance.

So take advantage of the business tools, but to be on the safe side, don’t carry a balance. And read all your mail in case other changes occur.

Sign-up bonus: You get 10,000 bonus ThankYou Points if you spend $300 within the first three months, which is enough for a $100 gift card. Not the best bonus I’ve seen, but it’s not bad, either.

Rewards: You earn 3 ThankYou Points for every $1 spent on purchases at certain office supply merchants and on professional services. And you earn one ThankYou Point for every $1 you spend on everything else. Plus, you can even earn ThankYou Points from purchases made on your employee accounts.

APR: Zero percent intro APR for six months; after that, you get a variable 13.24 percent APR.

Foreign transaction fees: 3 percent
